Greham Rugoyi

Biography

Graham Rugoyi (b. 1983, Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe) is a Shona stone sculptor working at the heart of Zimbabwe's contemporary sculpture movement. Originally a pencil draughtsman, he learned to carve under second-generation master Ignatius Zhuwakiyi. His abstract works, mainly in springstone, focus on human figures, animals and birds. From 2006-2008 he exhibited at the German Embassy in Harare, and his pieces have sold to private and public collectors across Europe and North America.
