Antony Masamba

Biography

Antony Masamba (b. 12 June 1973, Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe) is a Shona stone sculptor inspired by his woodcarver grandfather. After leaving school in 1991, he apprenticed for five years under the late Albert Nathan Mamvura. One of Shona Sculpture Gallery's most abstract artists, his polished works in springstone, cobalt and serpentine explore love as a transformative force. He won 2nd prize at Chitungwiza Arts Centre's 10 Years of Achievement (2007) and has exhibited with Guruve Limited, UK.
